Reminiscence 2007/2008 - Walking down Memory Lane
My second academic year in Imperial College and London is, simply said, GREAT. If my first year was one of character development and adapting to my new environment for a good 3 years of my life, my second year has been one of enrichment and fulfillment. If anyone is reading my blog, follow my series of posts from this point onwards!

Bon Voyage
If anyone is reading this, haha, I am going to leave Singapore, again, but for the last time for my undergraduate years. This past month in Singapore has been great. I met so many friends despite their busy schedules in work and study, and tried my best to strike a balance with spending time with my family. I know, I still owe lots of people loads of pictures! So sorry! And sorry to friends whom I nearly met but didn't in the end.
I can't bear to leave Singapore. For one, I am already missing home. For another, leaving Singapore means starting my third and final year in Imperial College, and it will pass by very very soon. I love London. I love Imperial. I can't bear to leave them next year.
My third year will be exciting as I will be focusing on cardiovascular sciences, my research area of interest. New coursemates, new housemates, new neighbours, new ppl, new knowledge, new areas to explore, new countries to travel, new cultures to be learnt. I will try my best to make this year one of the best years of my life.
For the last time in my undergraduate years in Imperial, hello London!

Curriculum
Year 2 in biomedical sciences has been exciting in terms of the modules arranged for us, to allow us to appreciate further the intricacy and wonders of the human body, both at the cellular level and organism level. The modules and topics I took include:
Applied molecular biology; computing and statistics; immunology; genetics; pharmacology; ethics and law; cancer biology; epidemiology; bioimaging; neurodegenerative diseases; depression; inherited haematological diseases; respiratory; obstetrics and gynaecology; foetal origins of disease; cystic fibrosis; cardiovascular disease; metabolic syndrome; global health and control of infectious disease; viral diseases; leukaemia
I chose film study as my humanity this year. It taught me the development of film in relation to history.
I did a tutored dissertation as well in my second term and Easter holidays. I was really fortunate to have met a great supervisor, and it has helped shape what I want to pursue for my PhD and my research in the near future – cardiac repair in regenerative medicine.

Chamberlain House
The first 2 weeks in London were spent on detol-ling the whole house with 100% detol! This year, Yunqin, Hong’en, Francine, Michelle and I rented an apartment in Chamberlain House along Cromwell Road. We had problems with our phone line and Internet, but we managed to find our way out, although the Internet has given us some problems and Hong’en the difficulty to stay in a DOTA game.:P
I like the location of my place. There were maintenance problems though - housemates, remember the regurgitating bath tub(!!!). However, the people in the block, and the joy we shared, have definitely made my stay in Chamberlain a memorable one.=)

Formally introducing the Seven Sisters! There are nine and a half cliffs in all, seven are the "sisters", two and a half are the "non-sisters", haha, no idea why. We started from the town of Seaford, and trekked up and down all 9 1/2 cliffs to get to the other town, Eastborne... Some sisters were merciful, while others were just steep and really trained you up...
